Terms of Service

Welcome to Leyamo! These Terms of Service (“ToS”) govern your use of the Leyamo mobile application (“App”), operated by AmaliLabs Management - FZCO (“Leyamo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. By signing up, logging in, or using the App, you (“User” or “you”) agree to these ToS. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Leyamo (or 16 years old in the European Union if required by applicable law). By using the App, you confirm that you meet this age requirement or, where applicable, have verifiable parental consent. If you are under the required age in your jurisdiction, you must not use the App without such consent.

2. About Leyamo

Leyamo is a platform that connects like-minded people after shared real-life running events. It allows you to:

  • Explore run clubs and runs in your selected city.
  • Join run clubs and participate in their broadcast chats for announcements from club admins.
  • Sign up for runs and check in using geolocation (within 200 meters of the run’s starting location, from 15 minutes before to 15 minutes after the run starts).
  • View profiles of other checked-in users 2 hours after a run, choosing to “pass” or “connect.” If both users “connect,” you can start a 1:1 chat.

Platform Disclaimer: Leyamo is solely a platform to facilitate connections and is not responsible for organizing, managing, or overseeing run clubs, runs, or any related activities. This includes any content, statements, or actions by run club organizers or admins on run club detail pages, run detail pages, or in broadcast channels. Users participate in runs and run clubs at their own risk.

3. Account Responsibilities

  • Profile Setup: You must upload at least one profile photo (up to four) and provide a name. Optional profile details include an “About Me” text, city, gender (male, female, or “don’t want to say”), “looking for” preferences (0-3 options), activities (0-5 options), and interests (0-5 options). You can edit your profile anytime.
  • Your Responsibility: You are responsible for all activity under your account. You agree to comply with these ToS at all times.
  • Account Deletion: You may request account deletion, and we will promptly delete your personal data, including profile information and chats, upon request, subject to legal requirements. This includes the right to request deletion of your personal data stored in backups or analytics systems, to the extent required by applicable law. We may retain anonymized data that cannot be linked to you for analytics purposes.
  • Suspension/Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice, if you violate these ToS, including but not limited to posting inappropriate content, engaging in harmful behavior, or failing to comply with applicable laws. We may also deny service if we believe it is necessary to protect our users, services, or reputation.

4. User Conduct and Content

You agree not to post, share, or upload any content (in profiles, chats, or elsewhere) that:

  • Is inappropriate, offensive, harassing, defamatory, discriminatory, or illegal.
  • Violates the rights of others, including intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Contains explicit, violent, or harmful material.
  • Misrepresents your identity or impersonates others.
  • Promotes illegal activities or violates applicable laws.

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend/terminate accounts for violations, at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice. You agree to indemnify and hold Leyamo harmless from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising out of content you post or actions you take through the App. We may introduce reporting tools in the future to allow users to flag inappropriate content.

5. Geolocation

  • Check-Ins: Leyamo uses your device’s geolocation to verify you’re within 200 meters of a run’s starting point (set by run admins via Google Maps) during the check-in window (15 minutes before to 15 minutes after the run start time). A check-in button appears during this window; clicking it verifies location access and checks you in if within range, or prompts you to enable location services if not.
  • Data Use: Geolocation data is used solely to confirm check-ins and is not stored beyond this purpose. By enabling location services, you consent to the temporary collection and processing of your geolocation data for this purpose. You can revoke this permission at any time via your device settings.
  • Map Display: Run starting locations are displayed on a Mapbox map in the App. You may open these locations in your native maps app (e.g., Google Maps, Apple Maps) for navigation.

6. Social Features

  • Chats: Run club admins send broadcast messages (text or photos). Matched users can send text or photo messages (from camera or gallery) in 1:1 chats.
  • Profile Viewing: After a run, checked-in users can view each other’s profiles and decide to “pass” or “connect.”
  • Safety: We may introduce tools to report or block users in the future. We review reported violations and may take action, including account suspension.

7. Data and Storage

  • Storage: Profile photos are stored in Firebase Storage. Profile details, chat messages, and other data are stored in Firebase Database collections.
  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics to track user actions (e.g., onboarding steps) and app usage to improve the App.
  • Privacy: See our Privacy Policy for details on data collection, use, and your rights, including your rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

8. Third-Party Services

Leyamo integrates with third-party services, including:

  • Firebase: For authentication (Google or email/password), data storage, and database management.
  • Google Maps: For setting and verifying run starting locations.
  • Mapbox: For displaying run locations within the App.
  • Google Analytics: For tracking app usage.

These services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies, which you agree to follow when using Leyamo. We are not responsible for the performance or policies of third-party services.

9. Intellectual Property

  • Our Rights: Leyamo owns the App and its content, except user-generated content.
  • Your Content: You retain ownership of your content, including profile photos, “About Me” text, chat messages, and other user-generated content. You grant Leyamo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to use, store, display, and distribute your content solely to operate and provide the App’s services (e.g., displaying your profile to other users, enabling chats).
  • Prohibited Content: You must not upload content that infringes the copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights of others. You are responsible for ensuring your content is authorized and lawful.
  • Copyright Complaints: If you believe your copyright has been infringed, contact us at chris@joinleyamo.com with details of the alleged infringement, including the copyrighted work, the infringing material, and your contact information. We will review and may remove infringing content or suspend accounts, in compliance with applicable laws (e.g., the Digital Millennium Copyright Act).

10. Payments

Current Status: Leyamo is currently free to use.

  • Future Subscriptions: We may introduce subscriptions or in-app purchases via Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other platforms (e.g., through RevenueCat). Payment terms, including cancellation, renewal, and refund policies, will be provided at that time in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws (e.g., Australian Consumer Law, EU Consumer Rights Directive).

11. No Warranties

Leyamo is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

12. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages, injuries, or incidents (e.g., during runs, run clubs, or user interactions) arising from your use of the App. You acknowledge and voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in any runs, clubs, or meeting other users. In jurisdictions where limitations of liability are not enforceable, this clause does not affect your statutory rights. You acknowledge that runs, run clubs, and related content (including run club detail pages, run detail pages, and broadcast announcements) are organized or provided by third parties or users, and participation is at your own risk.

13. Governing Law

These ToS are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Before initiating arbitration, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us. Nothing in this clause limits consumer rights under mandatory local law in your country of residence.

14. Changes

We may update these ToS from time to time. We will notify you of changes via in-app notifications or email, and the updated ToS will be posted on our website with an effective date. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated ToS. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the App.
